The amazing world of nudibranchs! These creatures come in every color, color combination, shape, and size imaginable! There are over 3000 species of these molluscs. These creatures can see, touch, taste, and smell. This nudibranch photo is that of a Spanish Shawl, found in the Casino Point Marine Park near Catalina Island at about 70 ft. deep. Although this photo is titled "Dancer" it should not be confused with the Spanish Dancer nudibranch, which is white and red. This guy reminds me of the brightly colored costumes I have seen at ballroom dance competitions.
